Connecting financial research documents with structured business data.
The Engineering Work
Analysts prepared research in Microsoft Word. A custom Word template helped standardize the documents and embed structured information. A publishing form allowed analysts to add or update values associated with a database record, including investment recommendations. The solution connected document preparation with the supporting data workflow.
The Outcome
The work provided a structured approach for preparing and publishing financial research documents alongside related database information.

Union Gaming
Research Publishing and Distribution
Replacing manual research distribution with a managed system.
The Challenge
Research reports were distributed manually by an associate through email. The process was labor-intensive and offered limited visibility into which recipients accessed a report.
The Engineering Work
Designed and built an application with database-managed distribution lists. The system sent personalized emails containing unique links to reports, making it possible to associate report views with individual recipients. The application was hosted and supported as part of the engagement.
The Outcome
Research distribution moved from a manual emailing process to a managed system with recipient-specific report links and visibility into report access.

Gift for a Goal
Payment and Gift Platform
Building a new approach to financial gifting.
The Challenge
A financial gifting startup needed a working platform for people to contribute toward recipients’ goals, with several ways to deliver the resulting gifts.
The Engineering Work
Led development of the platform with a small engineering team. Built account, goal, and contribution functionality; integrated PayPal; and implemented ACH functionality tested in Bank of America’s test environment. Designed an intermediate company-account flow for eventual disbursement and added a gift-card delivery option.
The Outcome
A working platform was developed demonstrating the financial gifting concept, including payment integrations and multiple methods of delivering contributions to recipients.

Xaxis
Production Reliability and Infrastructure Optimization
Restoring reliability to a growing advertising platform.
The Challenge
As campaign volume increased, a production platform continued ingesting data but experienced unpredictable failures in processing and storage. Component failures cascaded and disrupted operations.
The Engineering Work
Working with the engineering team, investigated system configurations and resource allocation; improved logging and monitoring where instrumentation was missing; and optimized database access using stored procedures, views, and indexes. A later AWS review identified unused resources, right-sized services, and changed purchasing arrangements for servers needed continuously.
The Outcome
The recurring production outages stopped, and AWS infrastructure costs decreased.
